Loft Insulation

With up to 50% of your heating disappearing through an inadequately insulated roof space its never been a more important time to think about insulating your loft. Insulating your loft is a simple and cost effective way to reduce your heating bills and you can even do it yourself.

The recommended depth for mineral wool insulation is 270mm. Note that there are other materials which require different depth's.

Loft insulation is said to be effective for up to 40 years and it will pay for itself over and over again in that time.

If you already have some insulation in your loft it may be a good time to top it up. Simply measure your existing depth and top it up to the required depth of 270mm if it is easily accessible and with no damp or condensation problems. If you do find damp or condensation, you should speak with a professional installer.
