Solar Electricity

Solar PV Panels use natural sunlight to generate electricity. This comes in the form of direct current electricity which then needs to be converted to alternating current by an inverter. Thes are usually found out of the way in the loft.

The converted AC electricity is then fed to the consumer unit in the house to help supply part of the daytime electricity requirements of the house, whilst the remainder will be supplied from the national grid. If all the electricity generated is not used then it is fed back to the national grid automatically.

Today some energy companies will purchase this at a specific rate which is used to offset your electric bill charges.
